Our Vocational ApproachCreating Opportunities for Success

Throughout history, society has often marginalized and viewed individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as needing constant supervision or specialized care. However, the truth is that this population possesses a wealth of untapped talents and skills that can greatly enrich our society. Instead of simply teaching them to adapt to a world designed for neurotypical individuals, we should focus on amplifying their unique abilities and empowering them to flourish. By doing so, we not only uplift their lives but also bring about positive transformations to both the workforce and the special education system as we currently perceive them. With this in mind, Think Ability has established multiple businesses that serve as vocational programs for the individuals we support. These programs provide a safe, controlled environment for individuals to learn and practice job skills, while also serving as a business in our local community and helping bring awareness to our mission. Our current vocational programs include The Community Garden, The Garden Café, The Garden Hub, The Garden Market, and Power Print. |
